Welp, we’re two months away from being done with 2020 once and for all!  This year has forced many to adapt and shift to online operations, and pitch contests are no different. One good thing about virtual pitch contests, is you can pitch right from the comfort of your own home! I know quite a few startups that have developed a nice foundation through pitching, and that’s because great pitch events offer the opportunity for both funding and partnership.

We’ve rounded up some great pitch contests and startup events happening in 2021 with an entry deadline happening NOW… happy pitching!


P&G Ventures Pitch Contest:  P&G is looking for applicants with technology is “fast-moving” and that will “improve the way people take care of their families, keep their homes clean, or live healthier lives.”  Compete for the chance to win $10,000 and an opportunity to partner with P&G Ventures!

Deadline:  Nov. 23, 2020

Finalists selected:  Dec. 14, 2020

Pitch contest:  Jan. 13, 2021


2021 SXSW Pitch Competition:  This year’s competition will include 48 companies with interactive technology.  The pitch will be virtual, followed by a five minute Q&A with a three-judge panel.  Check the SXSW 2021 website for eligibility criteria.

Early-bird deadline:  Nov. 24, 2020

Final deadline:  Jan. 8, 2021

Pitch contest:  March 17-18, 2021


2021 SPIE Startup Challenge:  This competition is great for startups specializing in optics or photonics technology.  Plus, there is no application fee!  Check the website for more specific eligibility criteria.  Semi-final competitions are virtual, but the final round will be in-person.

Deadline:  Nov. 30, 2020

Pitch dates:  March 10, 2021

Finals location:  San Francisco, CA


2021 BREW 10 High-Stakes Pitch Contest:  This competition is targeted to Louisiana-based businesses, or businesses who are willing to relocate.  Semi-final pitches may be made virtually, but the final round will be held in-person.  See the BREW website for more eligibility requirements and information about the event.

 Deadline:  Nov. 30, 2020

 Semi-finalists selected:  Dec. 11, 2020

  Semi-final pitches:  Jan. 7, 2021

   Final pitch:  Jan. 21, 2021
